Go Healthy Month
(formerly Worldwide Day of Play)

The Illinois Association of Park Districts and its partner, the American Heart Association's Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a joint initiative with the William J. Clinton Foundation, are bringing attention to the childhood obesity epidemic. We are encouraging park districts, conservation and recreation agencies across Illinois to host a Go Healthy Challenge event in September 2008 during Go Healthy Month. The Go Healthy Challenge is an online and grassroots movement that encourages kids to make their lives, schools and communities healthier. Your agency can host fun, family-oriented activities in the form of games, obstacle courses, races and walking events. Make your Go Healthy event whatever you want!

Register your event with IAPD to receive an event planner's kit, as well as guidelines and materials that build upon the Healthy Playbook 4 KIDS toolkit distributed at the January conference. Registration is FREE, and is open through September 30.
